Sauze d'Oulx is a mountain village and ski resort in the province of Turin, Piemonte (in the north of Italy), located 80 kilometres from Turin in the upper Susa valley, at the foot of monte Genevris (2,536 m)

A Little History

Since the beginning of the 19th century, Sauze d'Oulx has been a destination for the Turin aristocracy, and is still a skiing favourite because of its beautiful location. Skiing has been popular here for over a century and world champions like Piero Gros, a gold medalist of the 1976 Olympics, have been based here. Sauze d'Oulx is a working village all year round and still has a delightful ancient heart of stone buildings and narrow streets.

2006 Winter Olympics

Turin hosted the 2006 Winter Olympics on the theme "Passion Lives Here". Ski resorts around the area hosted individual events - Sauze d'Oulx being the location of the Freestyle Skiing events.
